HyDeal España

Spain at the core

Ideally located between North Africa and Northern Europe, Spain is the pioneer of the initial international H2 pipeline backbone.

With abundant and competitive PV along the H2 pipeline route, Spain can be the first production hub for competitive green H2. And gas storage both in Northern Spain as well as the salt caverns across the border in France can provide large H2 storage opportunity.

Spain will be at the heart of a massive H2 international transmission system, offering expansion and cost improvements opportunity by aggregating ultra-competitive supply from North Africa and delivering it to the Europe’s industrial heartland.

An Independent Hydrogen Producer

HyDeal España is an Independent Hydrogen Producer in Spain, supplying competitively priced green hydrogen, starting operations in 2028.

It is the first industrial implementation of the HyDeal Ambition platform, and the first mass-scale competitive hydrogen hub. The project integrates  dedicated renewable photovoltaic energy, green hydrogen production via electrolysis, and distribution via the Spanish hydrogen backbone.

We strive to have a positive impact on the territories, from the generation of local value-added, quality employment, community engagement, and responsible management of scarce resources such as water.

Our plan

Production will start in 2028 and total installed capacity will reach 4.8 GW of solar power and 3.3 GW of electrolyzers.

HyDeal Españ
a will supply 3 millon tons of green hydrogen over 20 years to major H2 consumption clusters in Northern and Eastern Spain at a price competitive with fossil fuels.

Securing the future of industry

HyDeal España will enable the production of green steel, green fertilizers and other zero-carbon industrial and energy products, positioning its sponsor companies as European leaders on their respective markets.

Mass-scale green hydrogen can now replace fossil fuels in industry, energy and mobility and provide Spain with a domestically produced, secure, competitive and zero-carbon energy alternative. Spain's green energy transformation is at a tipping point, bringing about industrial revival and sustainable jobs in collaboration with local communities, fulfilling the ambitions of its government to make the country a global pioneer, in line with Europe’s Fit for 55 agenda.
